If you follow our activities, you've probably already heard the slogan Made in Bytom. A few years ago, it was coined by, among others, Stanislaw Ruksza - then program director of the Kronika Centre for Contemporary Art - and Przemo Łukasik of the Medusa Group. They called it a project on alternative tourism.
Now Made in Bytom is back as a site that combines information on the activities of Bytom's cultural and educational institutions, which together want to promote Bytom's culture and invite residents of the city and region to enjoy it.
The site is a grassroots initiative of cultural units - municipal and marshal - as well as universities and art schools. Participating in the project are: Bytomskie Centrum Kultury, Teatr Rozbark, Pałac w Miechowicach, Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Kronika, Opera Śląska, Muzeum Górnośląskie, Wydział Teatru Tańca w Bytomiu Akademii Sztuk Teatralnych w Krakowie, Ogólnokształcąca Szkoła Baletowa im. L. Różyckiego, Ogólnokształcąca Szkoła Muzyczna im. F. Chopina and Młodzieżowe Domy Kultury nr 1 i nr 2.
At madeinbytom.pl, one can find not only a clear calendar of upcoming events, but also search for them according to a selected category (exhibition, concert, film, for children, etc.), find information on tickets (or a link to purchase them) or contact information for individual institutions. The site is also adapted for mobile devices. The operator of the site is Rozbark Theater. The author of the project's visual identity is Marcin Wysocki of the Kronika Centre for Contemporary Art.
