Events around the exhibition "Shout, Sister, Shout!"

We encourage you to participate in the events accompanying the exhibition "Shout, Sister, Shout!". We have offers for school groups and individuals.

With the exhibition " Shout, Sister, Shout!" we symbolically give a voice to women who have been deprived of it in the past and who today struggle with prejudice and exclusion. The invited artists focused on representatives of the local community, inviting, among others, refugee women from Ukraine, women from the local Roma community or people from a educationale center to collaborate in the creation of works. By relating the present to past events in the "Shout, Sister, Shout!" project, we raise questions about individual and collective responsibility and the importance of active citizenship.
We invite you to participate in the workshops and meetings accompanying the exhibition.

Curatorial tours of the exhibition:

  • May 10 (Friday), 5:00 pm
  • April 5 (Friday), 5:00 pm

Workshops for school groups are conducted in the exhibition space "Shout, Sister, Shout!" and in the Kronika common room. Visitors are guided through the exhibition and invited to participate in the activities, during which we address the issues of social exclusions that can affect various groups and ways to counteract them.
Conducted by Kronika CCA educators Dominika Malska and Katarzyna Kalina, as well as artists participating in the exhibition.
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours.
The exact dates of the workshops are set individually. Registration required: katarzyna.kalina@o2.pl and (32) 281 81 33. Number of places limited.

Workshops for adults:

  • 17 May, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
In this workshop we will look at how to use our voice to take good care of ourselves and to put up boundaries when needed. We will talk about what helps us and what hinders us from speaking up. We will also practise releasing our voice - that is, speaking strongly and emphatically and, of course, shouting. The workshop will be conducted entirely with active methods, based on discussion and action.

Anti-discrimination workshop for activists and people working in public administration.
Workshop aimed at local government officials and representatives, people working in public offices and public benefit organisations and other activists.
Like the whole ‘Shout, Sister, Shout!’ project, the workshop will be anti-discriminatory. It will begin with a short tour of the exhibition, where we will focus on selected works telling the stories of people living in and around Bytom and representing groups at risk of social exclusion (such as the Roma community, young people from an educational centre). We will then move on to exercises in which we will look at thinking in terms of stereotypes and the habit of judging and labelling. The workshop aims to raise awareness of the problems of social groups at risk of exclusion and draw attention to the need for empathetic communication.
The workshop will be led by educators from the CSW Kronika : Dominika Malska and Katarzyna Kalina.
Registration required: katarzyna.kalina@o2.pl and (32) 281 81 33. Places limited.

  • March 9 (Saturday), 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
